ESA summer school


After the great success of the International Summer Schools on GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) in in 2007, 2008 and 2009, the Danish GPS Center at Aalborg University and the University FAF Munich in cooperation with

 

Stanford University

Institute Superieur de l`Aeronautique et de l`Espace

TU Graz

European Space Agency

 

are organizing the ESA International Summer School on Global Navigation Satellite Systems: A Worldwide Utility

 

It is generally accepted that GNSS is based on a variety of disciplines from sience and engineering. This GNSS Technology is based on numerical analysis, statistics, signal processing, geodesy and classical astronomy. It is the objective of this summerschool to provide the attendees with a comprehensive overview on the design and development of satellite navigation systems as well as its applications.

 

The program is open to graduate students, PhD. candidates, early-stage researchers and young professional willing to broaden their knowledge.

 

Besides lectures on fundamentals, topics will address the US Global Positioning System, the Russian GLONASS, the European Galileo system, the Chinese BEIDOU/COMPASS, the Japanese Quasi-Zenith Satellite System and the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) as well as the augmentation systems.

Graduate Students (more than 3 years studies)

PhD students and postdoctoral researchers

Young engineers and professionals from industry and agencies (< 33 yrs)

 

Date: September 1– 11, 2010

 

Location: Slettestrand (about 40 km north-west of Aalborg) Denmark

 

Hotel Accommodation: Will be provided by the organizer

 

Participation Fee: € 1.250,00

Fee includes participation in all lectures and demonstrations, lecture material, accommodation in a holiday hotel in Slettestrand (mainly holiday flats), full board, social events.

 

Since the number of participants is limited to 50, early registration is recommended (first come – first serve)
