BrainsBusiness ICT NORTH DENMARK is a large private/public partnership within the field of ICT. The purpose of the collaboration is to support and develop the North Denmark ICT cluster. The aim is to 1) facilitate innovation, growth and jobs by working across institutional borders, 2) generate knowledge sharing and dissemination—both among companies and back and forth between research and knowledge institutions and companies and 3) make the various ICT competences of the region even more visible to the surrounding world.

Aalborg University
Aalborg University is the leading ICT university in Denmark. The university is engaged in a wide range of activities within ICT research and education, and it has a long history of collaborating with industry and inventing and developing advanced ICT products—one example is the embedded antenna for mobile phones.
ICTNORCOM Business Forum
BrainsBusiness ICTNORCOM is a network association which brings together companies working with or within ICT in North Denmark. The aim is to establish a forum where ICT professionals can meet across company borders to acquire new knowledge and initiate new cooperation relationships. The basis of the network is meetings, seminars and workshops, and in addition ICTNORCOM facilitates a number of specialist networks for various ICT trades.
The North Denmark Region
One of the responsibilities of The North Denmark Region is regional development. Thus, within the field of ICT, the region works to support further collaboration across sectors and authorities with the purpose of improving conditions for companies and citizens in the region.
The Municipality of Aalborg
The aim of the Municipality of Aalborg is to become a dynamic regional capital that makes its mark both nationally and internationally. This is one of the reasons why the Municipality is one of the main forces behind BrainsBusiness ICT NORTH DENMARK.
Mission:
The overall aim of BrainsBusiness ICT NORTH DENMARK is to contribute to making the North Denmark ICT cluster one of the most attractive and competitive ICT clusters in Europe by 2015. Key words of obtaining this status are:
- Recognition—BrainsBusiness works to communicate the strengths of the North Denmark ICT cluster on a regional, national and international level in order to make the competences known.
- Attractiveness—BrainsBusiness works to establish an attractive ICT environment in North Denmark that builds on a critical mass of knowledge, competences and unique framework conditions that will draw manpower, investments and new enterprises to the cluster.
- Competitiveness—BrainsBusiness works to strengthen collaboration, relations and trust within the ICT cluster and between research and industry—and thus establishing the necessary conditions for faster knowledge-based growth and competitiveness on the global market.
